- Disclaimer: This qualification will only fulfil the academic requirements, not a licensed trade qualification. Occupational licences are required if you want to work as an electrician nationally. You will require a licence to practise in the workplace where work is carried out on electrical equipment or installations which are designed to operate at voltages greater than 50 V a.c. or 120 V d.c. The NSW ERAC Occupational License meets NSW regulatory requirements NSW for individuals undertaking work related to electrotechnology. Visit NSW Fair Trading and ERAC website for more information. Practice in workplace and during training is subject to regulations directly related to occupational health and safety.

Course Details
Delivery
Students can select from 100% Online Learning or Online Blended (includes face to face on campus sessions).
Assessments
Assessment will usually commence in the session following delivery. Students will be required to perform in a range of assessment tasks including and not limited to;
Course Credit
Course Credit is the value assigned for the recognition of equivalence in content and learning outcomes between different types of learning and/or qualifications. Course Credit reduces the amount of learning required to achieve a qualification and may be through Credit Transfer (CT) and/or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Students may apply for RPL or Credit transfers for any unit in which they can successfully demonstrate competency.

Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment

Solve problems in multiple path circuits
Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Solve problems in direct current (d.c.) machines
Solve problems in magnetic and electromagnetic devices
Terminate cables, cords and accessories for low voltage circuits
Solve problems in low voltage a.c. circuits
Arrange circuits, control and protection for electrical installations
Test and connect alternating current (a.c.) rotating machines
Test and connect transformers
Develop and connect electrical control circuits
Develop and connect electrical control circuits
Evaluate and modify low voltage lighting circuits, equipment and controls
Evaluate and modify low voltage socket outlets circuits
Identify, shut down and restart systems with alternate supplies
mIsolate, test and troubleshoot low voltage electrical circuits

Material Fee : $2000
This can be split into two equal payments of $1000 to be paid upfront and balance at the start of the second year.
